Dream - General elections (Pemilu) are held with the budget provided by the government. The Minister of Finance (Menkeu), Sri Mulyani, reported that the expenditure for this year's Pemilu until February 12, 2024, is Rp16.5 trillion.

"As of February 12, a total of Rp16.5 trillion or 43.2 percent of the total budget allocation of Rp38.3 trillion has been realized," said Sri Mulyani during the APBN KiTa press conference, quoted from Merdeka.com, Friday, February 23, 2024."

Sri Mulyani explained, the budget realization is divided into two positions. The first is for the General Election Commission (KPU) and the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) amounting to Rp16.2 trillion.

The budget is used for the formation of the Adhoc Body, supervision of the election management by the Adhoc Institution, vote collection and calculation, as well as program and budget planning, and the preparation of regulations for the supervision of the election management.

Then the second post, allocated for 14 Ministries/Institutions (M/I), realized at Rp300 billion. Used for securing the election and maintaining security and Community Involvement, handling violations of the ethical code of election organizers, disseminating information, socialization, and coverage related to the election.

Then, handling of constitutional cases related to the implementation of elections, formation of election posts, formulation of national security vulnerability policies related to elections. Then, management of content and dissemination of public information up to supervision of vote collection and counting.

The Ministry of Finance has allocated a budget for the 2022 elections amounting to Rp3.1 trillion, Rp29.9 trillion for 2023, and Rp38.3 trillion for 2024. Therefore, in total, the Ministry of Finance has disbursed Rp71.3 trillion.
