Dream - Two students from Thailand have a unique and scary way to increase their income. They offer themselves to sleep in empty houses that are going to be sold to check if the house is haunted or not.
They are Wifei Cheng (21) and Sretthawut Boonprakhong (22) who provide solutions related to the problems often faced by property sales agents.
According to Oddity Central, both of them intentionally sleep and stay in houses and apartments that are considered haunted. This is done in order to dispel the haunted house issue so that many people are interested in buying them. Agents sometimes find it difficult to sell houses with a bad past record, such as the death of its occupants.
Wifei Cheng and Sretthawut Boonprakhong see this as a business opportunity, by offering themselves to be the ones who test the house before it is sold.
They also advertised themselves on social media, offering to sleep in allegedly haunted houses and apartments, and then issuing ghost-free certificates to provide reassurance to buyers and renters in the morning.
These two students went viral and even appeared in several publications of Thai news agencies, such as The Nation. At that time, they had just started promoting their services through social media and had not yet acquired any clients. However, Cheng was confident that there was a market for certified ghost-free houses.
At that time they had not set a price for the service, but mentioned that the cost could be negotiated, depending on the assignment.
"I also received similar jobs, such as staying overnight at cemeteries or other haunted places," he said. As for Boonprakhong, this student is actually afraid of ghosts. However, for him, this job will help him prove to himself that ghosts do not exist. On the other hand, he will certainly also earn an income."
And if there are indeed ghosts, he makes sure to always bring along some useful tools. "To be safe, I will arm myself with sacred amulets if I am offered a job," he said.
