Dream - Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, emphasized that the fare for Transjakarta passengers will not undergo any changes. Passengers will still be charged a fare of Rp3,500 or a maximum of Rp10,000 if using the JakLingko integration fare. Syafrin's statement denies the rumors on social media that Transjakarta fares will be adjusted based on economic capabilities. The circulating information suggests that the changes are made due to the implementation of the KTP-based or Account Based Ticketing (ABT) system.
The text translates to: "The word Syafrin is quoted from Merdeka.com, Monday, September 25, 2023."
Syafrin explained that the implementation of this ABT aims to integrate the ticket payment systems of various public transportation managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, namely Transjakarta, MRT, and LRT Jakarta.
"ujar Syafrin." translates to "said Syafrin."
Syafrin emphasized that this new system is only used to monitor whether the user's balance has been deducted or not. The balance in the electronic money card is also ensured to still be accessible if the card is lost. "Well, with Account Based Ticketing, if the card is lost, the balance is stored in the application. So there will be no more people losing their cards and their balance," said Syafrin.
The Head of Public Relations of PT Transjakarta, Wibowo, also stated that the Transjakarta service fee remains at Rp3,500. "The Transjakarta fee is still Rp3,500. Meanwhile, the arrangement based on economic status and ID card has not been implemented," said Wibowo when confirmed.
However, Wibowo is not willing to comment further on the plan to implement the KTP-based ticketing system or known as account-based ticketing (ABT). This is because the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, together with PT Transjakarta, still needs to conduct further studies before implementing the system. "Certainly, a study is needed to implement the program," Wibowo added.
As information, recently the B Commission of the DPRD DKI Jakarta approved the addition of Public Service Obligation (PSO) or service subsidies to PT Transportasi Jakarta or Transjakarta in the Draft Regional Budget Amendment 2023 amounting to Rp633 billion. Member of the B Commission of the DPRD DKI Jakarta, Nur Afni Sajim, also urged Transjakarta to provide assurance of improved services to the public as users of public transportation. This is because Afni admitted to still frequently seeing empty seats on the operating fleet.
On the other hand, Member of the Jakarta Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) Commission B, Pandapotan Sinaga, requested PT Transjakarta and the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) to complete the basic study of subsidy calculations. The calculation is necessary in order to provide subsidies that are measurable and targeted. Pandapotan said that until now, council members have never been presented with a basis for calculating subsidies in the transportation sector, especially for Transjakarta. However, he emphasized that a clear and detailed calculation basis is important to adjust the Public Service Obligation (PSO) allocation.
