"Dream - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that Civil Servants (ASN) or State Civil Servants (PNS) who are already under contract, must be ready to be assigned anywhere in the Indonesian territory, including relocating to the State Capital City (IKN)."
Jokowi assesses that the relocation is an effort by the government to achieve equal distribution in all fields, including the economy, education, health, and so on.
Jokowi's words at the National Working Meeting of the Indonesian Civil Servants Corps (KORPRI) 2023, quoted from Merdeka.com, Thursday, October 5, 2023.
Jokowi promised to provide various facilities that can be felt by civil servants (ASN) and government officials (PNS) who are willing to move to IKN. He urged government officials to ensure that the bureaucracy's performance is always in prime condition. According to him, a good work ecosystem is needed, starting from ideological aspects, work culture, performance governance, to welfare.
"Like a vehicle, bureaucracy is the engine. We need a powerful engine, efficient, not causing excessive fuel consumption, not easily overheating. Speeding up but staying cool. Therefore, I want the ecosystem of civil servants' work to drive, drive people to work, achieve, and innovate," he said.
Jokowi mentioned that Indonesia has the potential to become a developed country. However, if it is handled in a wrong, monotonous way, and only focuses on routine tasks, this country will only be trapped in a middle-income country. "Don't be monotonous, don't be fixated on routines, must be innovative, must be adaptive to the existing changes," said Jokowi.
Former Governor of Jakarta requested that civil servants simplify existing regulations so that they do not overlap and reminded that civil servants should not be allergic to technology.
According to Jokowi, technology is very important and Indonesia also needs high flexibility and agility to be able to continuously adapt to the current dynamic changes.
"Close Jokowi."
