Dream - Senior Vice President Innovation Center PT Pegadaian Ferry Hariawan, revealed that the community has purchased gold through Pegadaian Gold Savings as much as 21 tons of gold until now. That value has been calculated since the launch of Pegadaian Gold Savings in 2015, which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
"21 Ton Emas" in English is "21 Tons of Gold".
"Gold savings were directly launched by Mr. Jokowi in 2015. So, the accumulation from the opening until now is already 21 tons of people who have purchased gold savings," said Ferry Hariawan in Jakarta, on Tuesday, January 30, 2024."
Owned by 9.6 Million People
From the user's perspective, PT Pegadaian recorded that as many as 9.6 million people already have Pegadaian Gold Savings.
Ferry also explained, outstanding loan (OSL) in 2023 reached 7.61 million tons. "But the outstanding loan in 2023 is about 7.61 million tons. With the number of people who have ever saved around 9.6 million people," he said.
Chief Transformation Office of PT Pegadaian, Mulyono said, gold is an investment instrument option with minimal risk because it is not affected by inflation and has a fairly good level of liquidity.
"So many people consider it as an investment option for the present and future," he said. Gold investment is also seen as one type of investment that can be chosen because of its relatively stable value, even increasing."
Gold is projected to strengthen in 2024 based on the Commodity Markets Outlook October 2023 from the World Bank.
"In the same opportunity, PT Pegadaian collaborates with PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk to officially launch Pegadaian Gold Savings on the M2U ID App on Tuesday, January 30, 2024."
