Dream - The Institute for Quality of Life based in England has just released the Happy City Index 2024. In the list, sadly, there is only one city in Indonesia that managed to enter the index. It is not Jakarta, the city is Makassar.

The city of Makassar ranks 234th with a total score of 1230.7. The city, nicknamed Kota Daeng, only falls into the "Bronze" category, third after "Gold" and "Silver."

Quoting Liputan6.com, the index analyzes five main factors to narrow down the "happiest cities," which are citizens, governance, environment, economy, and mobility.

There are three cities in Asia that successfully entered the Gold category, namely Osaka (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), and Singapore, which is also the only Southeast Asian country on the Gold list.
