The Director of Logistics & Infrastructure of PT Pertamina (Persero) said that Pertamina will impose strict sanctions, including business closure, for depots that sell 3 kg LPG not in accordance with the provisions or without an ID card.

The President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Riva Siahaan, added that gas stations are also required to collect data on consumers who purchase 3 kg LPG gas in order to avoid illegal refilling. "So that when there is a purchase made by parties who will sell it again, we can actually record it," said Riva.

Meanwhile, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga admits that it still needs a maximum of 1 year to verify the total number of consumers who are truly eligible to purchase 3 kg LPG. According to data from the Acceleration of Extreme Poverty Eradication (P3KE), there are approximately 189 million population identification numbers (NIK) or ID cards from the segment of household communities who are eligible to purchase 3 kg LPG.

The Director of Downstream Oil and Gas Business Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Mustika Pertiwi, added that the government, together with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, is currently verifying data for 7.1 million NIKs to determine whether they are eligible consumers or not. "In fact, as of today, there are about 31.5 million new NIKs registered. Out of these 31.5 million NIKs, only 24.4 million are included in the 189 million new NIKs. The remaining 7.1 million NIKs are outside of the 189 million NIKs," he explained.
