At that time, Sri Mulyani and Susi were hosted for dinner by Budi Bowoleksono, who is the Ambassador of Indonesia to the United States.
According to Sri Mulyani, the meeting was warm with various stories exchanged. She described Susi as a tough person, as during her leadership as Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, she successfully sank illegal fishing vessels that stole fish in Indonesian waters. "I read in the news that Bu Susi has a tattoo on her leg, she tells a very exciting story about her job of sinking fishing boats that steal fish, I am amazed to see the way bureaucracy shops, I agree that there are many things that need to be improved," said Sri Mulyani.
As information, Sri Mulyani at that time still served as the Executive Director of the World Bank, which she held in June 2010. Then she was called back by President Joko Widodo to serve as the Minister of Finance, replacing Bambang Brodjonegoro. She has been serving as the Minister since July 27, 2016.
Sri Mulyani mentioned that the experience was a beautiful memory. She admitted missing talking with Susi Pudjiastuti.
"That evening, Bu Susi invited me to return to Indonesia to wait for you and serve. Aaaah, what wonderful memories.. Miss hearing Bu Susi's chatter... Warm regards, when will we meet again," concluded the Minister of Finance."
In the comment column, Susi Pudjiastuti responded to Sri Mulyani's confessions. "Dear Mrs., what a surprise to have your mention Washington 2016, the first time I met you. I was very happy .. so many confessions with my astonishment about the budgets .. usually being a small entrepreneur with just enough money .. then entering the cabinet/government, the budget is big but extravagant .. that's why I persuaded you to go home. Thank you, Mrs., for remembering," wrote the account @susipudjiastuti115.
