Dream - Zakat is part of the third pillar of Islam. As explained in a hadith narrated by Bukhari and Muslim: "Islam is built on five: testifying that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, establishing prayer, paying zakat, performing Hajj, and fasting in Ramadan." Now, in the month of Ramadan which is nearing its end, usually Muslims have started preparing themselves to give their zakat al-fitr.

The obligation to pay zakat is also concurrent with the enactment of observing Ramadan fasting. Zakat fitrah is mandatory for Muslim men and women, whether they have reached maturity or not, whether they are rich or not, with the condition that they are still alive on the night of the festival and have excess in their daily needs.

The virtue of paying zakat fitrah is one of them will enter paradise as Allah SWT said in Surah An-Nisa verse 162: "But those who have deep knowledge among them and the believers, they believe in what has been revealed to you (the Quran), and what has been revealed before you, and those who establish prayer, pay zakat,

and those who believe in Allah and the Last Day. They are the ones to whom We will give a great reward. "The meaning of a great reward is in the form of a guarantee of paradise for those who faithfully pay their taxes as promised to the Children of Israel."

People who pay zakat will be forgiven by Allah SWT for their mistakes. This is stated in the words of Allah SWT in Surah Al-Maidah verse 12, that Allah SWT promises forgiveness of sins for those who pay zakat. In addition, there is also a guarantee of paradise for those who pay zakat. As explained in the above Quranic verse.

People who pay zakat fitrah will receive guidance and guidance in all their affairs. This is explained in Surah At-Taubah verse 18: 'Only those who maintain the mosques of Allah are the ones who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and establish prayer, give zakat, and do not fear anyone except Allah. So it is they who are expected to be among the guided ones.'

Paying zakat al-fitr means cleansing the wealth that we possess. In addition, this obligation will also make our wealth more blessed, better, and abundant. As the Prophet Muhammad said: "Charity (zakat) does not reduce wealth." (Narrated by Muslim)

The most important time to pay zakat fitrah is before the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. This is as explained in the hadith of Abu Hurairah, which states that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) mandated zakat fitrah to be paid before the Eid al-Fitr prayer.

The other main time to pay zakat fitrah is after sunset on the night of takbiran. This is in accordance with the hadith from Ibn Umar that Prophet Muhammad saw obligated zakat fitrah to be paid before people go out to perform Eid al-Fitr prayer.

The latest time to pay zakat fitrah is before sunrise on the day of Idul Fitri. Although it is quite risky, it is still recommended to pay it. This is in accordance with the hadith of Abdullah bin Umar which explains that Prophet Muhammad saw obligated zakat fitrah to be paid before people perform the prayer of Idul Fitri.
