Dream - There are some people who are willing to adopt an extremely frugal lifestyle in order to save as much money as possible. Like what Ji-Hyeon Kwak, a 25-year-old woman from South Korea, did, who went viral in 2022 for being able to save up to 100 million won or around Rp1.1 billion in four years with an average salary of 2.2 million won or Rp25 million per month.

"He told his social media followers that knowing how hard he had to work to save the first 100 million won in 4 years, he was worried about the effort required to double his savings, but he revealed that it turned out to be easier than he thought. 'After reaching 100 million won, I feel that the fundraising speed is getting faster,' said Ji-Hyeon Kwak."

Regarding how to successfully save up to 90 percent of his monthly salary, Kwak admitted that he often spends at least 8,400 won or around Rp98 thousand for food per month. He relies on discount coupons and attractive offers, boils tap water instead of buying drinks, and cuts his own hair.

Ji-Hyeon Kwak now has a rapidly growing online community. She has 20,000 fans on YouTube alone, but no matter how much money she earns through social media, it will not be used for her savings. She only counts the money she saves from her salary. Although her savings may not be impressive to someone with a high-paying job or additional sources of income, for the average person with a low income, those savings are life-changing money.
