Dream - World Happiness Report releases a list of the happiest countries in Asia. Singapore ranks first.
Singapore has been the happiest country in Asia for two consecutive years, ranking 30 out of 143 places surveyed for this research.
Quoting CNBC from Liputan6.com, if viewed globally or worldwide, Finland ranks as the happiest country this year, followed by Denmark and Iceland. Here are the top 10 happiest countries in Asia:

1. Singapore 2. Taiwan 3. Japan 4. South Korea 5. Philippines 6. Vietnam 7. Thailand 8. Malaysia 9. China 10. Mongolia
The happiness ranking in this research is supported by data from the Gallup World Poll, which measures the average life evaluation of individuals, taken over three years from 2021 to 2023.
"6 Factor Analysis"
Experts in research also analyze data in six main factors, namely per capita GDP, healthy life expectancy, social support, freedom, generosity, and perception of corruption.
"The factors help explain differences across countries, while the rankings themselves are based only on the answers given by people when asked to assess their own lives."
According to a statement from the World Happiness Report.
The data collected for these six factors comes from organizations such as the World Bank, World Health Organization, and Gallup World Poll. "Singapore performs very well in terms of GDP per capita, ranking among the highest in our data set," said one of the authors and editors of the World Happiness Report 2024, Shun Wang.
He also said that Singapore has a very low level of corruption, which influences Singapore's selection as the happiest country in Asia.
Besides that, Singapore is "very good at producing healthy life expectancy, longevity, and healthy living," according to Jan-Emmanuel De Neve, Director of the Center for Wellbeing Research at the University of Oxford and editor of the World Happiness Report 2024, Jan-Emmanuel De Neve. However, Singapore ranks lower in terms of perceived social support, freedom to make life choices, and generosity.
On the contrary, Myanmar, Cambodia, India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh are among the unhappiest countries in Asia, according to the report.
India, the country with the world's largest population, ranks 126th out of 143 surveyed countries.
