Dream - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated Singkawang Airport, in Singkawang City, West Kalimantan (Kalbar), today on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
"Funds Used"
The President mentioned that the funding for the construction of Singkawang Airport comes from the State Budget (APBN) amounting to Rp272 billion, and also from local entrepreneurs Rp155 billion. So the total reaches Rp427 billion.
The calculation of the funds is based on the report from the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi.
"With the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, this morning I officially inaugurate Singkawang Airport in Singkawang City, West Kalimantan Province,"
The text translates to: "Jokowi's words quoted from Liputan6.com, Wednesday, 20 March 2024."
The President explained that Singkawang Airport is being built through a government and business partnership (KPBU) scheme, as well as with the assistance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) from local entrepreneurs in Singkawang City.
Former Governor of Jakarta delivers if the KPBU scheme and CSR assistance can be carried out in many other projects such as airports and ports, it will accelerate infrastructure development in the homeland.
"Meaning, people who come from that city, people who come from that district, people who come from that province, also participate in their respective regions,"

"Getting to Know Singkawang Airport"
"Singkawang Airport is being constructed from 2019-2023 and is targeted to be operational in April 2024. The airport has a runway measuring 1,400 m x 30 m, a taxiway measuring 200 m x 18 m, an apron measuring 100 m x 50 m, and a cargo terminal covering an area of 312 square meters, which is being built using the national budget (APBN)."
Meanwhile, the passenger terminal building covering an area of 8,000 square meters and the extension of the runway to 2,000 meters are constructed using CSR funds. With a runway length of 2,000 meters, Singkawang Airport can accommodate Airbus A320 aircraft.
"We hope that this will accelerate the mobility of people, accelerate the mobility of goods, accelerate the mobility of logistics to and from Singkawang, and we hope that new economic growth points will emerge in the city of Singkawang, and earlier I whispered to the Minister of Transportation that this airport could be used as an example to be copied and replicated in other regions,"
President Jokowi's words.
The President also requested the Minister of Transportation to immediately prepare airlines that serve routes to Singkawang with the operation of Singkawang Airport.
