The XXXII Congress of the Association of Islamic Students (HMI) and the XXV National Assembly (Munas) of Kohati have been held at the Qubu Resort ballroom, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, on Friday (24/11) evening. This event was officially opened by President Joko Widodo, accompanied by several people, such as Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo. The event was opened with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, followed by the HMI anthem and the Kohati march in sequence. After that, there was a recitation of the holy verses of the Quran and a performance of traditional multi-ethnic dances from West Kalimantan by the Kijang Berantai Pontianak Dance Studio.

The event then continued to the main agenda of the opening of the HMI Congress and Kohati National Meeting by President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jokowi. "With the recitation of bismillahirrahmanirrahim, tonight I officially open the 32nd Congress of the Islamic Student Association and the 25th Kohati National Meeting, in the year 2023," said the President in his opening speech. After delivering the speech, the President then struck the gong as a sign of the opening of the 32nd HMI Congress and the 25th Kohati National Meeting. The main agenda of the congress itself will be held on Saturday (25/11) and will be attended by thousands of HMI members from all over Indonesia to determine the elected Chairman of HMI.

"Previously, Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito, expressed his support for the implementation of the XXXII HMI Congress and the XXV Kohati National Conference. It is expected that the routine agenda of HMI and Kohati can run smoothly. 'I hope that HMI can continue to be a refresher and a calming influence. I believe that our future challenges will be difficult,' said Dito. 'Today is the time for organizations to be able to adapt and become relevant again with the development of young people. So, I hope that these challenges can be formulated at the HMI and Kohati congress later,' he added."
