"Our first day's journey, which started from the BYD Haka Auto Dealer in Cibubur, finally finished at the Swiss-Belresort Dago Heritage. There were many surprises when I had the opportunity to drive and be a passenger in this car."

The BYD M6's suspension features a MacPherson strut in the front and a Multi-link at the rear, which surprised me quite a bit; however, this setup seems to be very well received by everyone in the cabin. As for its power, referring to the specification data, the BYD M6's electric motor is capable of producing a power output of 120 kW (Standard) and 150 kW (Superior) as well as a maximum torque of 310 Nm.

"If I recall the moment I started my journey on the highway, I tried to 'step on' the gas of the BYD M6 from 0 to 100 KM/h and it surprisingly took less than 9 seconds. It's quite sufficient for a family car that is even powered by an EV. Then, the driving experience of this EV car, in my opinion, is almost the same as that of a gasoline-powered car. Energetic yet still fun to drive."

This vehicle remains safe, even when driven fast. The benefits of the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) M6 are very noticeable on the highway. The lane correction sensation and the Adaptive Cruise Control feature also make the distance setting with the car in front feel natural.

"We also had the chance to try the panoramic sunroof feature through voice command; perhaps because it is still in the process of refinement, the software system for some reason did not want to work. As a result, we opened it through the manual button. The uphill and winding roads typical of Subang are like trivial matters for this car. The instant torque from the electric motor allows the BYD M6 to easily conquer steep inclines. Meanwhile, the regenerative braking system helps recharge the battery during descents."

"After noon, we arrived at Highland Ciater with about 55% battery left. Meanwhile, in another car, the battery power still had up to 75% remaining. The difference in battery percentage compared to the other car may be due to the driving mode, as we initially drove on the highway using sport mode. After that, we tried normal mode, and the decrease in battery consumption was not as steep as before."

As information, the BYD M6 is currently the only 7-seater EV priced below Rp500 million, and it quickly came to the forefront. The Head of PR and Government Relations at PT BYD Motor Indonesia, Luther Panjaitan, claims that the BYD M6 contributes more than 50% of the total 2,900 SPK they received at GIIAS 2024. The BYD M6 is offered in 3 variants: the BYD M6 Standard 7-Seater priced at Rp379 million, the BYD M6 Superior 7-Seater priced at Rp419 million, and the BYD M6 Superior Captain Seat priced at Rp429 million.
