The Lively Saman Dance Competition at Dream Day Ramadan Fest 2023

Dream - On the second day of Dream Day Ramadan Fest 2023, April 6, 2023, organized by Dream.co.id, the event was exciting. This time, it was filled with the Saman Dance competition for high school level at Exhibition Hall A, Jakarta Convention Center.

The Saman Dance competition was participated by several schools in Jabodetabek, including SMK Pelita Ilmu Kota Depok, SMAN 8 Jakarta, PKBM 1 Bening, SMAN 9 Tangerang Selatan, and SMAN 6 Tangerang Selatan. The competition atmosphere was very exciting and lively, and it was judged by two juries, Syahid Latif, the Editor-in-Chief of Dream.co.id, and Yeyen, an artist and professional Saman Dance trainer.

The participants look enthusiastic. They wear their best costumes and practice regularly.

“We have been preparing for this Saman Dance practice for quite a long time. Actually, we are part of the extracurricular activities at school, which is mandatory for us to practice. When there is a competition, we practice regularly with our trainer,” said Aqila Miranda, one of the participants from SMAN 6 Tangerang Selatan.

This competition has predetermined assessment criteria set by the committee. It includes teamwork, creativity, and performance, which includes costumes, makeup, and harmony. The event was held with great enthusiasm and attracted the attention of visitors. It will eventually produce the top three teams in the Saman Dance category that best meet the assessment criteria.
