This is because the Prophet Muhammad once predicted that one of the signs of the Day of Judgment is that many people have exceeded the limits and do not believe in the existence of the Day of Judgment.

Signs of the Day of Judgment in the Hadith of the Prophet

Although the exact timing of the Day of Judgment is not known for certain, there are many evidence that explain the signs of the end times or the Day of Judgment, one of which is through the hadith of the Prophet.

Just as explained in the hadith of Bukhari, the signs of the Day of Judgment include the spread of ignorance.

"Among the signs of the Day of Judgment is the disappearance of knowledge and the spread of ignorance. (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

In addition, in another narration, it is explained as follows:

"Among the signs of the Day of Judgment is the scarcity of knowledge and the spread of ignorance, the widespread prevalence of adultery, the increasing number of women and the decreasing number of men. To the point that one man can take care (marry) 50 women (due to the ignorance of that person about religious knowledge)." (HR. Bukhari)

Regarding the wedding of a pair of dogs named Jojo and Luna, which was celebrated lavishly, this shows that humans nowadays prioritize their desires over common sense and religious values. Even for animals, they are willing to spend hundreds of millions.

Is it a Sign of the End Times?

So, is the lavish wedding of a pair of dogs with a grand party part of the signs of the end times?

In a hadith narrated by Muslim, it is explained that one of the signs of the Day of Judgment is competing in grandeur.

"When the Prophet was asked by a man (who was actually the Angel Gabriel in disguise) about the signs of the Day of Judgment, one of the Prophet's answers was 'Yatathaawaluuna fil bunyaan' which means competing in grandeur of buildings."

Now, based on the above hadith, related to the phenomenon of a dog wedding, there are elements of luxury and extravagance.

Even in the Quran, it is also explained in Surah At-Takathur (The Rivalry in Worldly Increase) verses 1-3:

تَکَاثَرَ الْتَکَاثُرُ (1) حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ (2) كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ (3)

Meaning: "The rivalry in worldly increase diverts you until you visit the graves. No! You are going to know. (QS. At-Takathur: 1-3)"

The above verses explain about humans who are busy with worldly possessions, friends, and many followers to the point of forgetting charitable activities. Their wealth is not used for good purposes, such as helping those in need.
