MRT Ticket Payment System Changes Starting July 1, GoPay and OVO Can No Longer Be Used

Dream - PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has adjusted the MRT ticket payment system that will be effective starting July 1, 2023. Passengers can no longer make payments using QRIS facilities from several digital wallet service providers.

"MRT Jakarta payment methods starting July 1, 2023," quoted from the Instagram announcement @mrtjkt, Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

Passengers can make MRT payments using several electronic money cards from government banks such as BRI's Brizzi, Bank Mandiri's e-money, BNI's TapCash, and Bank DKI's Jakcard.

Owners of electronic money cards from PT Bank Central Asia Tbk also don't need to worry because Flazz can still be used for ticket payments.

Payment with QR Code in the MRT-J app is only available for AstraPay, i.saku, and blu. Physical cards are valid for Jelajah card and JakLingko card.

However, MRT management has decided to no longer accept ticket payments from several digital wallet providers such as GoPay, OVO, Dana, and LinkAja. These four services could previously be used with QR codes.

The decision to update the MRT ticket payment system has made netizens question the reasons why the management no longer accepts QR code payments through GoPay, OVO, Dana, and LinkAja.

The World is Getting Cooler! MRT Passengers Chased by Deadlines, Working from the Metaverse

Dream - Technological advancements have greatly helped humans in various matters, including work. As seen in a video on TikTok that recently caught public attention.

TikTok account @reyfrangswa uploaded a video showing an MRT passenger working from the Metaverse as a substitute for a laptop. The man is seen wearing VR/AR glasses to work.

"Working in the Metaverse on the MRT as a substitute for a laptop," wrote TikTok account @reyfrangswa in the video.

The man explained that he was chasing a work deadline. In order to finish on time, he utilized the Metaverse so he didn't have to use a laptop directly.

Working from the Metaverse

A male MRT passenger works from the Metaverse as a substitute for a laptop while being chased by a work deadline.

In the video, the man enters the MRT and immediately takes out white VR/AR glasses. He then starts working from the Metaverse.

"Chased by a deadline!! Have to submit a book to the editor soon. So, WFM work from metaverse," he wrote.

The man is seen typing in the air as if typing on a laptop. He does this so he doesn't have to bother opening a laptop.

After that, he also shows the Metaverse display that he sees. The screen and keyboard are all grayish in color.

In that virtual screen, there is also a text of his work. He briefly explains how the VR/AR glasses he's wearing work.

 He explains in detail how to make sure that the laptop screen doesn't obstruct his real view in front of him. This phenomenon proves that the future is getting more advanced.

"The future looks exciting or scary, as long as we keep up with technology," wrote the account owner.
