Remember the Allegations of Infidelity between Son-in-Law and Mother-in-Law in Banten? Now Both Have Been Designated as Suspects

Dream - Do you still remember the story of alleged infidelity between son-in-law and mother-in-law in Serang, Banten, which went viral? Now, the Banten Regional Police have officially designated Rozy and his mother-in-law, Ruhanah, as suspects in a case of alleged adultery.

The Sub-Directorate IV of Adolescents, Children, and Women (Renakta) of the Banten Regional Police, Kompol Herlia Hartarani, revealed that this case of alleged adultery has been handled since January 29, 2023, based on a report from the perpetrator's wife.

“Based on the results of the case review, RH and RZ have been designated as suspects in a case of adultery in accordance with Article 284 of the Indonesian Penal Code (KUHP)," said Herlia, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, as quoted from Merdeka.com.

The wife of the perpetrator, identified as NR, reported her husband and mother-in-law to the Banten Regional Police regarding allegations of adultery under Article 284 of the Indonesian Penal Code (KUHP).

Article 284 of the Indonesian Penal Code (KUHP) states that adultery is committed by two people, one or both of whom are married, and is reported by the spouse of the perpetrator and carried out with mutual consent.

The suspects were officially designated after the police collected evidence and conducted a case review on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

After conducting an investigation to collect evidence, the police held a case review and concluded that the status of the case should be elevated from investigation to prosecution.

Based on the investigation results, including the evidence and testimonies of witnesses, on Friday, August 18, 2023, the police conducted another case review to designate the perpetrator as a suspect of the crime.

After the report was processed, both suspects now face a maximum sentence of nine months in prison.
