Sad Confession of Brigadier J's Younger Brother After Sambo's Death Sentence is Reduced to Life Imprisonment

Dream - The family of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat is disappointed with the Supreme Court's cassation decision to reduce Ferdy Sambo and others' sentences.

The Supreme Court did reduce Sambo's sentence from death penalty to life imprisonment. Meanwhile, Sambo's wife, Putri Candrawathi, who was originally sentenced to 20 years in jail, had her sentence reduced to only 10 years.

Through his Instagram account @maharezarizky, Brigadier J's younger brother, Reza Hutabarat, expressed his disappointment while uploading a photo of his deceased brother.

He believes that even though the verdict has changed, God will still work to do something.

"The verdict has changed. But God is working to do something," he wrote.

He also reposted news about the Supreme Court granting the cassation of Ferdy Sambo's sentence to life imprisonment. He even imagined Brigadier J rising from the grave and revealing the truth of his murder case.

"Should my brother rise from his grave? To explain what really happened," he wrote.

Cassation Granted, Ferdy Sambo's Death Sentence Revoked

Dream - The Supreme Court (MA) granted the cassation request submitted by Ferdy Sambo in the premeditated murder case of Nofriansyah Yoshua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J. As a result, Ferdy Sambo is now only sentenced to life imprisonment.

"Case number 1. Case number 813 K/Pid/2023, defendant Ferdy Sambo SH SIK MH. Death penalty verdict by the District Court. Verdict upheld by the High Court. Cassation request submitted by the Public Prosecutor and the defendant. Cassation verdict, reject the cassation request of the Public Prosecutor and the defendant with the amendment of the criminal offense and the imposed punishment," said MA Head of Bureau and Public Relations Sobandi at the MA Building, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

"Found guilty of jointly planning murder and unlawfully causing the electronic system to malfunction. Life imprisonment. Opinions of Panel 2 and Panel 3 are dissenting," Sobandi added.

Previously, the Supreme Court received the cassation file of Ferdy Sambo, the defendant in the premeditated murder case of Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J. It was another step to escape from the death penalty.

MA spokesperson Suharto confirmed that they had received the cassation file from Ferdy Sambo. So far, the team has studied the completeness of the case file.

"The Supreme Court has received the cassation file of Ferdy Sambo and others and has examined the completeness of the file," said Suharto to reporters on Friday, June 23, 2023.

According to Suharto, they are currently in the process of registering the cassation of Ferdy Sambo's case for a subsequent trial. After that, MA will submit a circulation proposal for the case.

"Only then will a new panel be appointed, the distribution to the new panel, and then the panel will read the cassation file," explained Suharto.
