Scientific Evidence that Human Tailbone Does Not Break Even in the Apocalypse

Dream - It is mentioned in the Quran that the universe and everything in it will be destroyed on the Day of Judgment. However, there is a part of the human body that will not be destroyed.

It is the coccyx bone (tailbone) that will later become the origin of humans resurrected on the Day of Judgment. The uniqueness of this coccyx bone has been mentioned by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) 1400 years ago.

The coccyx bone, or tailbone, is a part of the human body that will never break and is eternal.

When someone dies, all parts of the human body will eventually decompose except for the tailbone.

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

"The distance between the two blows of the Trumpet is forty. Then Allah sends down rain from the sky, and they grow like vegetation. All parts of human beings will be destroyed except for one bone, which is the tailbone. From the tailbone, humans were created on the Day of Judgment," (Narrated by Bukhari 4554 and Muslim 5253).

In another hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "All parts of the body of Adam's offspring will be consumed by the earth except for the coccyx bone, from which he was created and from which he will be resurrected." (Narrated by Bukhari, Nasa'i, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, and Ahmad in his Musnad, and Malik in his book al-Muwaththa).

Evidence of the Uniqueness of the Coccyx in Science

The above hadith explains that the coccyx bone will not break even when humans die and their bodies decompose.

This bone will remain intact until the Day of Judgment, and from this bone humans will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment.

Long before technology advanced, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) already knew about the uniqueness of the coccyx bone that will not break even when humans die.

Furthermore, even if coccyx bone cells are subjected to heating, burning, or chemical treatment, they will not break.

Many researchers have proven the uniqueness of the coccyx bone. Quoting the Journal of Education and Social Sciences, in 2002 Shaikh Abdul-Majid Az-Zindani burned five coccyx bones until they turned red and black.

He found that only muscles, tissues, and bone marrow cells were burned, while the coccyx bone was not affected by the burning process (Al-Karim, 2015).

A group of Chinese scientists proved in their laboratory experiments that the "Agbu adh-Dhanab" (the end part of the tailbone) cannot die completely.

They tried to dissolve it chemically in the strongest acid, through burning, impact, and by exposing it to various types of radiation.

The scientific evidence about the coccyx bone is in line with the hadith of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who knew about it 1400 years ago (El-Naggar, 2012).
