Story of Dream Inspiring Women 2023 Participants Deciding to Dress as Muslimah: Hijab Makes Me More Confident

Dream - The final round of Dream Inspiring Women (DIW) 2023 brought together 50 participants from various regions in the archipelago.

Today, Sunday, April 9, 2023, 50 inspiring Muslimah came to the Jakarta Convention Center, Central Jakarta, showing their elegance.

Not only in terms of appearance but also in open-minded thinking and sensitivity to the surrounding environment.

The 50 DIW finalists were directly tested by three judges, namely Syahid Latif (Editor-in-Chief of Dream.co.id), Lia Firdaus (VP Commercial of Umroh.com), Wahidah Oktavia (Senior Public Relations of Wardah Beauty), who were randomly selected through a fish bowl.

These beautiful women provided various answers from the judges, which included self-development, problem-solving, general knowledge, and global ideas about the world.

Not only that, questions about digital media, social media, role models, and even business were asked by the judges to the participants who came from various backgrounds.

The participants of DIW 2023 came from those who are still students in the country and abroad.

Among them are those from modeling backgrounds, MCs, students, freelancers, and even those who are already married. They range in age from 26 to 19 years old.

Lia Firdaus, as one of the judges, said that each participant has their own character. This event can also be an opportunity to share inspiration with others.

One of the participants from Jakarta, Restu Maulida Hasanah, explained her reason for wearing the hijab. She has been wearing the hijab since Junior High School (SMP).

"The reason I wear it is because I am aware that the hijab is a requirement set by Allah SWT," she told Dream on Sunday, April 9, 2023.

She mentioned the words of Allah SWT in the Quran, Surah Al-Ahzab, verse 59, which means:

"O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful."

The 22-year-old woman said that she became more confident after wearing the hijab.

"After wearing the hijab, I am more confident because my aura is covered," Restu said.
