Dream - The viral multi-storey house that refused compensation a few weeks ago, was finally demolished by its owner.

The green-colored building went viral because the owner refused Rp3.5 billion compensation from the government.

The house is located in the middle of the Yogyakarta-Solo Toll Road construction project in Kauman Village, Ngawen District, Klaten Regency, Central Java.

The demolition was carried out after the owner received compensation for the affected land offered by the land acquisition committee for the toll road.

Kasi Pengadaan Tanah BPN Klaten Sulistiyono said that Setyo Subagyo's house was demolished independently. Setyo was said to have received Rp3.5 billion compensation for the house.

"Mr. Setyo has signed the compensation payment agreement letter. He has received the compensation money at the Klaten District Court," said Sulis, on Friday, March 10, 2023.

According to Sulis, with the acceptance of the compensation for the affected land for the toll road, the issue of land for Setyo Subagyo's property has been resolved.

"With Mr. Setyo, there is no longer any problem. He demolished the house himself and the compensation value remains Rp3.5 billion," he said.

Furthermore, Sulis continued, the demolition of the house was carried out by the owner since Thursday, March 9, 2023.

"According to the information, materials such as doors and iron have been sold. So it was demolished by the owner," said Sulis.

Meanwhile, Christian Nugroho, the acting commitment maker staff for the Yogyakarta-Solo Toll Road in Klaten, also confirmed the news.

The owner of the house, Setyo Subagio, confirmed that he has received the compensation of Rp3.5 billion for his affected house.

He admitted that he reluctantly accepted the compensation because there was no hope that the value would increase as he had hoped.

In a video uploaded by the TikTok account KakaTV, a heavy equipment is seen demolishing the house from the back.

The doors and windows in front of the house appear to have been manually dismantled.

The roof or tiles of the house have also been gradually removed by workers who are in charge of demolishing the house.
