Dream — School-age children today have very busy activities. Not only school, they also have tutoring, Quran recitation, and participate in extracurricular activities.

To Make Quality Children's Sleep, Try the

When children are very tired due to activities and fatigue, they tend to have difficulty sleeping. This condition is usually experienced by children aged 7 years and older.

If even though you fall asleep at night, when you wake up your body still feels tired because your sleep quality is lacking. To help your child have a good quality sleep, it is recommended to perform the "power down hour" ritual. Curious about how to do it?

To Make Quality Children's Sleep, Try the

"Power Down Hour" is an activity where a family engages in simple activities together, such as reading books together or playing small games with the family.

This is done to help their children rest and sleep soundly. "At this time, we encourage children to 'turn off', meaning they start to shut down their minds and bodies as they prepare for sleep. The consistency of this routine allows the body to expect sleep to occur soon and helps them achieve an ideal rest condition, not only improving how they fall asleep but also the overall quality of sleep," said Dr. Lauren Collins, a pediatric sleep consultant.

Bagaimana Power Down Hour Membantu Anak Tidur?

"How does Power Down Hour help children sleep?"

As we know, school-aged children will need more time to get quality sleep. This is necessary for their readiness to receive lessons the next day.

Furthermore, lack of sleep can also cause many problems, ranging from mental disorders to chronic diseases. By implementing "Power Down Hour", children will sleep earlier and parents will no longer have trouble waking them up. If the implementation is consistent, it can make children sleep more soundly, have better quality sleep, and wake up easier in the morning.

"By doing this, and relaxation, children are able to overcome tension that may make sleep time stressful. This is also beneficial because it helps the brain enter a state of relaxation by sending signals to the body that it is time to rest," said Collins.

Other Benefits of Power Down Hour

In addition to helping children sleep earlier, this method can also provide several other benefits for children and families.

Other Benefits of Power Down Hour

Quality Time Children will tend to spend more time with their friends and teachers at school, so the time they have to spend with their family is only in the evenings. With the existence of this "Power-Down Hour" routine, parents and children can become more aware of the precious time they have. Not to mention, children can also relieve fatigue after a day at school by playing with their family at home.

Reduce Stress Levels in Children This method can also be beneficial for the mood and behavior of children. Children may become more obedient and their frustration may decrease slightly. Help Children Focus More By spending time with the family before bed, there will certainly be moments that require a high level of focus. Implementing this method can improve a child's focus on a particular thing. Ultimately, learning will feel easier.

"During children's school days, it is important for them to get a good night's sleep so that they can learn better, have energy to play and socialize, and become their best selves," said Collins. Report by Monica Alycia Mutiara / Source: Parents
