5 Provinces with the Most Online Gambling Players, Transactions Reach IDR 3.8 Trillion

"Dream - Task Force (Satgas) for Online Gambling Eradication revealed five provinces with the highest number of online gambling players. 'The five largest provinces in terms of demographics whose communities have been exposed to (online gambling), based on data from PPATK, the first one is the top one, West Java,' said Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto, as quoted from Merdeka.com, Wednesday, June 26, 2024."

Hadi revealed that West Java is in the first position with 535,644 people. The online gambling transactions recorded by PPATK in that province reached Rp3.8 trillion. In second position with the highest number of online gambling players is DKI Jakarta with a total of 238,568 people and transaction value reaching Rp2.3 trillion.

"The third is Central Java. Central Java, the number of online gambling players is 201,963 people. Then its circulation, the money is Rp1.3 trillion," said Hadi."

Next, in fourth position is East Java with a total of 135,227 online gambling players and a transaction value of Rp1.051 trillion. Finally, the province in fifth place with the highest number of online gambling players is Banten. "In Banten, there are 150,302 perpetrators and the circulating money there is Rp1.022 trillion," said Hadi.

In addition to the provincial level, Hadi also mentioned five districts/cities with the most online gambling players. Among them are West Jakarta City with a total transaction value of Rp792 billion, Bogor City Rp612 billion, Bogor District Rp567 billion, East Jakarta Rp480 billion, and North Jakarta City Rp430 billion.

Meanwhile, at the district level, Hadi revealed seven districts with the most online gambling players, namely South Bogor District with 3,720 online gambling players and transactions worth Rp349 billion. Then Tambora District with 7,916 people and a value of Rp196 billion, Cengkareng District with 14,782 online gambling players and transaction value of Rp176 billion, and Tanjung Priok District with 9,554 online gambling players and transaction value of Rp139 billion.

"The following Kemayoran District is worth Rp118 billion and there are 6,080 players there. Kalideres District is worth Rp113 billion and has 9,825 players, and Penjaringan District is worth Rp108 billion with 7,127 players," said Hadi."

"To address online gambling, especially at the sub-district level, said Hadi, the Online Gambling Task Force will soon summon the sub-district heads and village chiefs concerned."
