"Dream - Vice presidential candidate (cawapres) number 3, Mahfud Md, was considered less brave in attacking vice presidential candidate number 2, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, in the second debate of the 2024 Presidential Election."
The assessment of Mahfud was revealed by a man named Reza during the event 'Tabrak Prof Mahfud' at a café in Surabaya, East Java, some time ago.
Reza said, "Mahfud seems less aggressive and only subtly attacks Gibran. 'Yesterday I saw in the vice presidential debate, Prof Mahfud was with Cak Imin and also Mas Gibran. I think Prof is likened to an uncontrollable bullet. That's what makes Prof the choice of the Indonesian people. But what happened during the vice presidential debate, Prof Mahfud seemed to only subtly attack Mas Gibran, why?'" asked Reza, quoted from the Instagram post @mohmahfudmd, Friday, January 12, 2024.
"Is it because Prof Mahfud is a subordinate of Mr. Jokowi who is, by the way, the father of Mas Gibran? Has Prof Mahfud's bullet been controlled, has each of them been shot. And Prof Mahfud must still be able to stand on his own without being pressured by anyone,"
"imbuhnya." translates to "its addition."

Mahfud then responded to Reza's question. Mahfud admitted that he had asked a deadly question that Gibran couldn't answer during the debate.
"Soal debat saya dengan Gibran, saya kira jelas itu, saya tegas, saya membuat pertanyaan mematikan." translates to:
"The debate issue with Gibran, I thought it was clear, I was firm, I asked deadly questions."
word Mahfud.

Mahfud gave an example of a deadly question, namely about the tax ratio. According to Mahfud, that question is deadly and cannot be answered by Gibran.
"For example, he said he would develop a tax ratio of 23 percent, that 23 percent is nonsense. So I asked, is that 23 percent from the state budget or from taxes? If you say it's from taxes, it means our state budget will be covered by more than 200 percent. Because with just 10 percent, it already covers 28 state budgets, why would it increase by 23 percent? Are they planning to raise taxes?""
say Mahfud.
"If you want to raise taxes, it's dangerous. Even the current tax burden is already causing many people to complain. Giving tax amnesty is still being manipulated, giving incentives are not being utilized, it's already a deadly question. It can't be answered. Is it not hard enough? It's already hard, it's already been crashed."
"imbuhnya" translates to "additionally."
