"Don't Be Disappointed That You Can't Fast, Here Are 5 Deeds for Menstruating Women in the Month of Ramadan that Bring Abundant Rewards"

Dream - Women who are menstruating during Ramadan are not obligated to fast. However, they are required to make up for the missed fasts outside of Ramadan according to the number of days missed. Some women may feel sad for missing a few days of fasting. Automatically, they have also lost the rewards from every worship that they should have performed. However, don't worry, Dream friends. You still have the opportunity to earn rewards even if you are not fasting.

The way is by performing several deeds besides praying, fasting, and reading the Quran. What are those deeds?

Don't Be Disappointed That You Can't Fast, Here are 5 Deeds for Menstruating Women in Ramadan that Bring Abundant Rewards

The following are the practices of menstruating women in Ramadan as summarized by Dream through various sources.

Hadith about Women's Menstruation Practices

This hadith tells about the disappointment of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) who was on a journey to perform Hajj but suddenly experienced menstruation during the journey. Then, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) comforted her.

Hadith about Women's Menstruation Practices

From Aisyah ra said: "We went out (safar) with the Prophet SAW, and our only goal was to perform Hajj. When we arrived at Sarif or near it, I experienced menstruation. Then the Prophet shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam came to see me while I was crying. Then he asked, 'Are you experiencing postpartum bleeding?' (meaning menstruation) Aisyah said, 'I answered, 'Yes.' He shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said, 'Indeed, this is something that Allah has decreed for women from the offspring of Adam."

Then perform the acts of Hajj, but do not perform Tawaf around the Kaaba before you have taken a bath (after purification from menstruation). Aisha said, "Then the Prophet SAW performed the sacrifice by slaughtering a cow intended for all his wives." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)

"Practices of Women during Menstruation in the Month of Ramadan"

In order for women who are menstruating to still be able to earn rewards during the month of Ramadan, here are the practices that can be done:

1. Donate a lot

Apart from fasting, friends of Dream who are menstruating and still want to earn rewards can give charity. Especially in this holy month of Ramadan, various good deeds are highly recommended. For example, distributing food for breaking the fast. The Prophet Muhammad once said, "O women! Give charity and seek forgiveness abundantly. Because, I see that women are the majority of the inhabitants of Hell." (Narrated by Muslim)

2. Searching for Knowledge

Other practices that can be done by menstruating women in the month of Ramadan to still earn rewards are seeking knowledge. Sahabat Dream can read books, listen to religious lectures through YouTube, or attend a gathering. Considering that seeking knowledge is an obligation for Muslim men and women, especially if the knowledge obtained can be applied.

InsyaAllah, that will be beneficial for oneself and others. As explained in the following hadith: "Learn knowledge, indeed learning knowledge for the sake of Allah is a form of piety. Seeking knowledge is an act of worship, studying it is a form of glorification, and analyzing it is a struggle." (HR. Ad-Dailami)

3. Berdzikir

"Remembering Allah is a practice that can be done by women who are menstruating. This particular practice is capable of bringing abundant rewards. Sahabat Dream can remember Allah anywhere and anytime. For example, while using public transportation or while working. The Prophet Muhammad once said: 'The example of someone who remembers his Lord and someone who does not is like the example of the living and the dead.'"

Remembrance that you can recite, for example, tasbih, tahmid, takbir, hauqalah, and so on. So, try not to miss the time for remembrance, my friend Dream.

4. Pray

Apart from dhikr, prayer is a practice that is commanded to Muslims. This practice can be done by a woman who is menstruating during the month of Ramadan. By doing so, you still have the opportunity to earn rewards. Sahabat Dream can pray anywhere and anytime, as long as it is in a good place. Through prayer, you can be closer to Allah SWT and ask for the desires you want.

5. Preparing for Iftar

Although not fasting, women who are menstruating and help prepare the iftar meal are performing a religious act that can bring rewards. You can help prepare the iftar meal for your family or friends when living together in a boarding house or rented house. Do it sincerely and happily, God willing, you will be rewarded.
