Dream - A number of residents in Sumbersoko Village, Sukolilo District, Pati Regency, Central Java, took the law into their own hands against four individuals who were thought to be car thieves, resulting in one person's death. This unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, June 6, 2024. Three residents from Jakarta and one resident from Tegal came to Sumbersoko Village to retrieve a rented car.

Meanwhile, Aris as one of the residents of Sumbersoko whose house became a parking space for cars said that he borrowed the vehicle from a friend. "The incident happened around 13.00 WIB. I was working at that time, not at home. My wife was informed by the residents that the car was taken away by the perpetrators," said Aris.

Citizens who do not know these four foreigners assumed that they were thieves and immediately took matters into their own hands, by hitting, kicking, and even one of them was hit with a large stone until one of them lost their life. "BH passed away after being taken to Kayen Regional Public Hospital," said Commissioner Pol Andhika.

The head of criminal investigation explained that the condition of the other three individuals, namely SH, 28 years old, a resident of West Jakarta, AS, 37 years old, a resident of East Jakarta, and KB, a resident of Teal District, suffered injuries all over their bodies and are currently still undergoing treatment at the local hospital. In addition, the car they were driving was also set on fire by the surrounding residents.
