Siwa Bustingorrytitan is a member of Lithostrotia, a large group of sauropod titanosaurians that lived during the Cenomanian period in the Late Cretaceous, approximately 95 million years ago.
Siwa Bustingorrytitan originates from the same stratigraphic unit as the basal colossosaurus Chucarosaurus diripienda and the lognkosaur Argentinosaurus huniculensis, the first described giant titanosaurus.
Phylogenetic analysis conducted found Siwa Bustingorrytitan to be a lithostrotian, a sister taxon to Saltasauridae.

Siwa Bustingorrytitan is estimated to have a body mass of 67.3 metric tons, making it one of the largest recorded sauropod dinosaurs. The diversity of sauropods in the Cenomanian-Turonian interval (100 to 90 million years ago) in the Neuquén Basin, which is expressed not only in body size but also in tooth morphology, may be possible due to the process of niche partitioning.
Especially, the period recorded in the Huincul Formation is related to the diversity of sauropods: from medium to large-sized titanosaurus, small to medium-sized basal diplodocoids, to giant titanosaurus like Siwa Bustingorrytitan.

In the Cenomanian-Turonian period (100 to 90 million years ago) in the Neuquén Basin, the diversity of sauropods was not only seen in variations in body size, but also in differences in tooth shape, which may have been caused by ecological partitioning processes.
