Tritylodontids are a group of reptiles that show similarities with mammals, which existed during the Triassic period (251.9 million to 201.3 million years ago) and the Jurassic period (201.3 million to 145 million years ago). These creatures, which are warm-blooded plant eaters, may have lived alongside early mammals for millions of years and successfully survived through the mass extinction event at the end of the Triassic period. The diverse species of tritylodontids come in various sizes, ranging from the size of a mouse to the size of a wolf.
