Nur Atiqah received sad news about her mother on her wedding day. This Malaysian girl did not expect that on her special day, she would receive the heartbreaking news about her mother being critically ill in the hospital. The sad story that happened on Atiqah's wedding day on August 26th was retold by her friend, Mohd Asmawie.
"The most joyful day became the most heartbreaking moment for my good friend. The event went smoothly. The bride looked happy. But about half an hour after she finished the marriage vow, Iqa received bad news that her mother was critically ill in the hospital. Our friend received the news from the hospital staff, because at that time Iqa was in the middle of the wedding ceremony," said Mawie, who is familiarly called Mawie."
Mawie, who has been good friends with the bride for the past 15 years, said, "Iqa did not have the opportunity to meet her mother for the last time. Iqa's mother passed away at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) on Saturday morning due to the stroke she had been suffering from."
According to Mawie, the last time Iqa met her late mother was on Friday afternoon after her mother had been hospitalized for two days. "She and her husband had to leave the wedding event before rushing to the hospital to see her critically ill mother," said Mawie. But fate had other plans. As soon as Iqa and her husband arrived at the hospital, the mother of the 32-year-old woman had already taken her last breath. "I really can't describe her feelings. There was a little joy, but more sorrow," said Mawie.
"Despite that, Mawie is proud of Iqa for remaining strong while helping to wash her late mother's body at the hospital. 'The funeral arrangements were assisted by her younger brother and her father's siblings,' Mawie said. However, according to Mawie, Iqa and her husband briefly returned to their wedding event in Ampang. In fact, they were in an unstable and too sad state."
Iqa had to gather strength to return to her wedding event. However, she was not there to celebrate the happy day, but merely to honor the guests who were able to come from far away. There were family members who came from Singapore and Indonesia. So Iqa immediately returned to the wedding event after the hearse arrived.
"But he didn't stay long at the wedding event because he went straight to the mosque and before burying the body after Asr," explained Mawie.
Iqa herself couldn't sit for long on her wedding stage that ended in sorrow. Even the wedding cake was only cut after her wedding reception.
