Dream - Friday is a day full of blessings and highly esteemed for Muslims. There are many good deeds that can be done on that day, such as increasing prayers and giving charity. In addition, there is a specific time on Friday that is very effective for supplication. This time is kept secret by Allah SWT, similar to the secret of Lailatul Qadar. Some scholars believe that the effective time is after Asr on Friday.
As reported by Dream from NU Online, the auspicious time is based on the following hadith: "Twelve hours on Friday, during which a Muslim servant does not ask anything from Allah except that Allah grants his request. So seek that time at the end of the time after Asr." (Narrated by Abu Daud, al-Nasa'i, al-Hakim, and al-Baihaqi)
Apparently the hadith above has been authenticated by Imam al-Hakim, as quoted by al-'Iraqi who said: "And al-Hakim said, this hadith is authentic according to the standards of authenticity of Imam Muslim." (Sheikh Zainuddin Abdurrahim bin al-Husain al-'Iraqi, volume 3, page 190).
"In addition, according to the hadith narrated by Imam Muslim, the auspicious time on Friday is the time between the sitting of the preacher on the pulpit until the imam completes the Friday prayer. This narration by Imam Muslim is the one chosen by the majority of Shafi'i scholars in determining the auspicious time on Friday."
Meanwhile, Imam Nawawi in Tahriru Alfazhit Tanbih said: "The time for ijabah is the time between the preacher sitting on the pulpit for the first time and the imam finishing his Friday prayer. This is in accordance with the explanation in Sahih Muslim from the words of the Prophet, narrated by the Companion Abi Musa Al-Asy'ari. Another opinion says that there are several versions that are widely known besides the first opinion. The most famous one is after Asr on Friday. The correct opinion is the first one."
"If both of these opinions are equally valid, how do we as Muslims understand the narrations of hadiths from Imam Abu Daud and Muslim?"
Regarding this matter, Imam Nawawi explained that it is possible for the time of acceptance to vary on each Friday. On certain Fridays, it sometimes corresponds to the affirmation in the narration of Abu Daud. While on other Fridays, as emphasized in the narration of Imam Muslim. This pattern is as chosen by al-Nawawi in correlating various narrations about Lailatul Qadar.
"(Imam Nawawi, al-Majmu' Syarh al-Muhadzdzab, volume 4, page 426)."
Based on the explanation of Imam Nawawi above, it can be concluded that the time after Asr on Friday is a blessed time and has extraordinary virtues. Therefore, it is advisable to increase our prayers throughout the day on Friday, hoping to find a time of acceptance that may vary every Friday. There is a recommended supplication to be recited after Asr on Friday that can be practiced. Read the complete supplication after Asr on Friday below!
The following is the translation of the provided 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "The following is the recommended prayer after Asr on Friday that can be recited: Oh Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I am faithful to my covenant and promise to You as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings and I acknowledge my sins, so forgive me for my sins. Indeed, no one forgives sins except You."
Meaning: "O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god that I worship except You who has created me. You have created me as Your servant and the child of Your servant. My life is in Your hands. I live by Your promises and threats. As long as I can, I seek refuge in You from the evil that I have done. I have wasted Your blessings. And I have committed sins. So forgive my sins. Truly, no one can forgive sins except You."
