Dream - Sedekah is one of the important teachings of Islam. Through this practice, it is able to bring positive impacts to both the giver and the receiver. Through sedekah, it shows that human beings should help and care for each other. This can create harmony and peace. However, sedekah is always associated with giving money. In fact, sedekah itself can be in various forms. Especially considering the different economic conditions of individuals. Some of them are not able to give sedekah in the form of money.

Sedekah is one of the five pillars of Islam and is a recommended act of kindness for Muslims. The ruling of sedekah is sunnah muakkad, which means it is a highly recommended practice consistently performed by Prophet Muhammad. Essentially, sedekah cannot be considered haram, unless the recipient uses it for things that contradict Islamic law, such as gambling or committing sinful acts.

However, charity can also become obligatory if the giver of charity has an excess supply beyond basic needs and encounters someone in critical condition who needs that charity. In this case, the giver of charity has an obligation to give charity in order to help fellow believers who are experiencing difficulties. Therefore, as Muslims, we are encouraged to always give charity sincerely and provide assistance to others with love and generosity.

In the Quran, it is mentioned that Allah SWT will multiply the rewards for those who give charity. Thus, charity will bring forth mercy and blessings from Allah SWT.

Sedekah has the power to erase the sins committed by the giver of charity. In several hadiths, it is mentioned that charity can erase sins like water extinguishing the fire that burns wood.

Donating paradoxically can help clean one's wealth. Allah SWT promises to replace every rupiah spent in the form of charity with multiplied sustenance. Therefore, by giving alms, a person's wealth tends to increase rather than decrease.

"Sedekah has the power to keep someone away from difficulties and miseries. In the hadith, it is mentioned that sedekah can eliminate various calamities."

Donating also has a positive impact on our health. Through this act of kindness, the giver of the donation will feel happy and satisfied, thus improving mental and emotional well-being.

Often, the goodness that we give will come back to us. By giving charity, someone will live under the guidance of Allah SWT and the kindness of their heart will guarantee their life to be prolonged.

"Sedekah is an effort to obtain a high and noble position in heaven later on. In many hadiths, it is mentioned that those who give sedekah will be given a high place in heaven as a reward for their good deeds."

Every tasbih (praising Allah) and tahmid (glorifying Allah) is a charity. Every takbir (proclaiming the greatness of Allah) and tahlil (reciting the phrase "La ilaha illallah") is a charity. Enjoining good and forbidding evil is a charity. Smiling at one's husband and children, as well as fellow Muslim women, is a charity. Offering the Duha prayer (mid-morning prayer) of two units is equal to 360 charities. Restraining oneself from the desire to do evil is a charity. Feeding birds or other animals or humans is a charity. Honoring a guest in one's home for more than 3 days is a charity.

"Trying to help and assist others is considered as charity. Seeking knowledge, teaching, and spreading it, whether through listening, reading, or writing, is considered as charity. A sip of water given to a thirsty person is considered as charity."
