Dream - There are many variations of reciting sholawat with different names and pronunciations. One of the frequently recited and practiced sholawat is the Doa Sholawat Munjiyat. Reciting sholawat is one form of remembrance that is highly recommended to be practiced regularly by every Muslim. Many people believe that by frequently reciting sholawat, desires or wishes will be easier to come true.
Recommendation to Recite Salawat
The command to read blessings is mentioned in the following verse of the Quran: إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا This means: "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, send blessings upon him and salute him with a respectful greeting." (Quran, Al-Ahzab: 56)
Meanwhile, the prayer of sholawat munjiyat refers to a type of sholawat that is practiced as a prayer to seek protection from all disasters to Allah SWT. Literally, the prayer of sholawat munjiyat means sholawat that acts as a savior.

"Some wise people say: 'I was on a ship, then a strong storm blew, almost causing us to sink. Then I (fell asleep and) saw the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in a dream. He said: Tell them to recite the prayer 'Allâhumma shalli 'alâ Muhammadin shalâtun tunjînâ bihâ min jamî'il ahwâli wal âfât wa taqdhî lanâ bihâ jamî'al hâjat wa tuthahhirunâ bihâ min jamî'is sayyiât wa tarfa'unâ bihâ 'indaka a'lâd darajât wa tuballighunâ bihâ aqshal ghâyat min jamî'il khairâti fil hayâti wa ba'dal mamât.' Then I woke up and we recited the prayer, and the wind calmed down by the permission of Allah."
