"Meanwhile, the man's condition continued to deteriorate. Finally, the medical team decided to perform emergency abdominal surgery. After opening the man's abdomen, the doctors found that the large eel had reached his abdominal cavity and bitten his large intestine. Successfully removing the eel and lemon, the doctors then closed the hole in the man's large intestine. According to Le Nhat Huy, deputy director of the Center for Colorectal Surgery at Viet Duc University Hospital, eels can survive in anaerobic (oxygen-free) conditions for some time and can puncture the digestive tract. Huy added that there is no reason for anyone to attempt to insert eels or other animals through their anus, considering the unpredictable consequences. Such actions are extremely dangerous and can cause serious damage to the digestive tract.
