- 2 stalks of lemongrass, crushed

- 4 bay leaves

- 40 ml of coconut milk

- 3 tbsp of cooking oil

 

How to Make:

Nasi Liwet

1. Heat the oil and fry two medium-sized ikan peda that has been cut into three parts. Fry until cooked and set aside

2. Thinly slice 7 shallots and 4 cloves of garlic, then sauté using the remaining oil from frying the fish. Add 12 pieces of petai and 4 bay leaves

3. Prepare a mortar and grind 5 red bird's eye chilies and 1 clove of garlic. Once smooth, add it to the sautéed ingredients

4. Add coconut milk and 6 tablespoons of teri medan to the sautéed mixture. Cook until fragrant

5. Then remove the sautéed ingredients and put them into a pot. Add 3 cups of water and 2 cups of clean washed rice. Stir well until evenly mixed and cook until done

6. Prepare banana leaves as a base and steam the cooked rice and fried ikan peda again

7. Nasi liwet is ready to be served with various side dishes, sambal, and cucumber.
