Dream - Thousands of young people flocked to the Job Fair and Seminar event organized by the Mojokerto Regency Government at SMKN 1 Sooko, Sooko District, Mojokerto.
Job Fair held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, is open to the general public and free starting from 08.00 AM WIB. In a video shared by the Instagram account @aslimojokertocom, thousands of people crowded the school streets.
Even the job applicants were seen walking and jostling when the school gate was opened. It is worth noting that this Job Fair provides various job vacancies from 45 companies.
Appearing to be so long and winding, the short video also shows that due to the overwhelming number of applicants, the officers had to close the gate and leave other applicants to not enter first.
Quoting the Mojokerto Regency website, the job fair event presented 3,220 job vacancies and was attended by at least 6,939 job seekers.
This event is expected to be one of the efforts to reduce the open unemployment rate in Mojokerto Regency.
The implementation of this job fair is considered quite effective in reducing the unemployment rate in the Majapahit Earth. This is evidenced by the Central Statistics Agency, where the open unemployment rate in Mojokerto Regency in 2021 reached 5.54 percent or 33,033 people, experiencing a decrease to 4.83 percent or equivalent to 31,221 in 2022.
Meanwhile, in 2023, the unemployment rate in Mojokerto decreased by 4.67 percent or equivalent to 30,219 people. Therefore, with the implementation of this job fair, it is expected to reduce the unemployment rate by 10 percent or 3,000 people absorbed into the workforce according to the target in 2024.
