Dream - Tokopedia e-Commerce Manager will increase the service fee or administration fee (admin) for seller partners starting from May 1, 2024. The service fee will increase to 2 percent to 6.5 percent, applicable to Seller Power Merchant and Power Merchant PRO.
The amount of service fees that sellers have to pay will be taken based on the category and price of the products they sell. There are categories A to E.
Cost details of service per category group of products: Category Group A: service cost 6.5 percent per sold product Category Group B: service cost 5.5 percent per sold product Category Group C: service cost 4.5 percent per sold product Category Group D: service cost 3.1 percent per sold product Category Group E: service cost 2.0 percent per sold product
The fifth category is divided into various types of goods such as electronic goods, fashion, mother and baby, beauty, health, body care, food and drinks, sports, and household.
"The Tokopedia step follows Shopee and Lazada, which have previously raised their service fees since December 2023. The details of service fees according to the category of sold products can be seen on the Tokopedia page."
The Expert Staff in the field of Finance and SME Development at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, Loto Srinaita Ginting, stated that the policy of increasing service fees is the prerogative of each marketplace company.
However, MSMEs need to be careful in recalculating profit margins after this increase.
"Marketplace has various options so that UMKM craftsmen can calculate whether the most orders come from platforms like Tokopedia,"
