Dream - A young man who has just bought shoes from abroad worth Rp10.3 million complains about the tax imposed on the newly imported item. The man admits to being subject to an import duty tax of Rp31.81 million.
This man vented his frustration by uploading a video on his TikTok account @radhikaalthaf. He questioned the clarity of the taxes that must be paid to the Customs because their value is considered unreasonable.
According to the video, quoted on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
I don't believe in the value of the customs duty, Radhika tried to calculate it herself using the Mobile Beacukai application. From the application, an estimated import duty of Rp5.8 million must be paid.
"ungkapnya" translates to "he/she said."
The Customs and Excise responded to Radhika's complaint through the X Bea Cukai account @beacukaiRI. According to Bea Cukai, the customs duty was imposed due to a discrepancy in the CIF or declared customs value reported by the shipping company, namely DHL. As a result, a fine was imposed.
Customs recorded, DHL reported CIF or customs value of US$35.37 (Rp562,736), which Customs used this information for determining the value of the goods. However, after inspection, the sent CIF was US$553.61 (Rp8,807,935).
Because of the inconsistency, an administrative sanction in the form of a fine is imposed, according to Minister of Finance Regulation Number 96 of 2023 article 28 part five, article 28 paragraph 3. This administrative sanction amounts to Rp24,736,000.
"Clearly."
The details of import duties and taxes on the shoes are as follows: import duties of 30% amounting to Rp2,643,000, Value Added Tax (VAT) of 11% amounting to Rp1,259,544, import income tax of 20% amounting to Rp2,290,000, and Administrative Sanctions of Rp24,736,000. Therefore, the total import duty bill reaches Rp30,928,544.
"The amount of administrative sanctions in the form of fines is imposed in accordance with Government Regulation Number 39 of 2019, Article 6 regarding the Imposition of Administrative Sanctions in the Form of Fines in the Customs Field," said Customs. Customs urges buyers of the shoes to consult with the shipping service provider used, namely DHL. "Regarding the imposition of administrative sanctions in the form of fines, it is recommended for the owner of the goods to consult with the shipping service used, in this case DHL as the authorized importer of the goods," he concluded."
As for the examination status and detailed billing, they can be accessed openly and in real time by the owner of the goods through beacukai.go.id/barangkiriman or by contacting @bravobeacukai and the Customs Service Office that handles the package.
