Dream - After being hit by a pandemic in 2020, the desire of Indonesian people to go abroad is increasing. Not only for tourism, many Indonesian citizens want to go abroad to work.
Although the number is not as much as before the Covid-19 pandemic, this desire remains significant. Despite global challenges, such as geopolitical tensions, widespread economic concerns, and emerging mobility trends.
Seeing the high enthusiasm of Indonesian citizens to work abroad, Jobstreet by SEEK as a job field platform conducted a survey on worker mobility trends. This exclusive report titled "Decoding Global Talent 2024: Worker Mobility Trends" reveals that there are still many Indonesians who want to work abroad.
As many as 67 percent of respondents have a strong desire to work abroad by 2023. This report includes a global survey in 188 countries, with 150,000 respondents, including 19,154 workers from Indonesia.

According to this report, there are many reasons why Indonesian workers want to move to work abroad. Wisnu stated that the main reason is due to career advancement, followed by financial reasons and the pursuit of a better quality of life.
This is different from findings in other countries that prioritize financial reasons as the first motive for working abroad. "Career development or work experience ranks highest as one of the motivations for Indonesian people who want to work abroad, where around 70% of them have that motivation," said Wisnu.
