Dream - Globalization makes job seekers not only dream of working in the capital city of their country. In the "Decoding Global Talent 2024: Worker Mobility Trends" released by Jobstreet by SEEK, it is revealed that there are 10 countries that have become favorite destinations for work.
This report is in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group, The Network, and The Stepstone Group, which reveals location preferences and how people around the world want to work, including for professional workers in Indonesia.
This global survey covers 188 countries, including more than 150,000 respondents, including 19,154 Indonesian workers who provide local insights into the current employment landscape.
Based on the survey, it was found that 67 percent of the Indonesian population in 2023 has a strong desire to work abroad. This result is equivalent to the average job seekers in the Southeast Asia region, which reached 68 percent. Although this figure has decreased from the pre-COVID-19 level of 82 percent in 2018, the interest in working abroad remains high. This report also reveals that professionals in the fields of digitization, data science, and artificial intelligence (AI) are most willing to move abroad to work (81%).
This trend is followed by professionals in other fields such as Engineering (77%), Creative and Research Professions (76%), and Information Technology (75%).
"However, professionals in the field of social services and administration show a lower interest in moving abroad, due to the localized nature of their work."
