"Lost Item on Whoosh Fast Train Worth Rp500 Million, Here's How to Report It"

Dream - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia-China (KCIC) revealed that the value of passengers' belongings left behind on the Whoosh high-speed train reached Rp500 million. General Manager Corporate Secretary KCIC, Eva Chairunisa, recorded that since the first operation of the Whoosh high-speed train on October 2, 2023, there have been 582 items left behind at the station or inside the Whoosh high-speed train.

"Lost Items"

As for the items that were left behind, they include laptops, mobile phones, cash, jewelry, accessories, suitcases, bags, eating and drinking utensils, as well as personal documents such as identification cards and passports.

"Overall, the total value of those goods is estimated to reach Rp500 million," said Eva in her statement, quoted from PasarDana website, Tuesday, January 16, 2024."

Eva explained that returning items to passengers on average only takes approximately 1 hour since it was reported. This can be done because of the built system and the work of professional officers.

"However, of course we also need cooperation from passengers to immediately report if there are any lost items," Eva explained. Eva emphasized that KCIC ensures that all lost items secured by officers will be stored in the lost and found at the station."

Through the lost and found system, professional human resources, as well as security devices such as CCTV on trains and at stations, these lost items will be immediately secured by officers through the process of data collection and storage in the lost and found system. According to Eva, this system will facilitate the search and return process when passengers report lost items.

In addition, KCIC also utilizes a security system in the form of CCTV devices that have been installed at various points both in the station and on the train, if needed for handling lost items.

"How to Report Lost Items on Whoosh"

Passengers who have left behind their belongings can contact cs@kcic.id or directly meet the officers at the station or on the train. Then, provide a description of the lost item, the time of the incident, and the ticket number if the person is a passenger.

KCIC assures that any lost and found passenger items will be secured by officers and the return process will be conducted promptly. All officers are trained to handle lost items with care and store them in a safe room, ensuring proper security.
