Dream - After Apple CEO Tim Cook, now it's Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's turn to meet President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday morning, April 30, 2024.
Minister of Communication and Information Technology (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi, mentioned that the visit of Chairman & CEO Microsoft to Indonesia is a good opportunity for investment because Microsoft is a large company in the world.
"Certainly, this is a meeting with the world's largest market cap company, Microsoft," said Budi. However, Budi has not mentioned the amount of investment that Microsoft will pour into Indonesia."
"Just wait, there's more. Later, the number issue will be directly conveyed by Satya Nadella," he said. "The details will be discussed after this. The meeting is at 8.30," Budi concluded."
The arrival news of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is not new, previously Budi Arie did mention that there would be two technology company bosses visiting Indonesia.
According to Budi Arie, at that time, he also revealed that Microsoft's presence was one of them to discuss investment in Indonesia.
CEO Microsoft Satya Nadella, was born in Hyderbad, India, on August 19, 1967. Nadella obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Mangalore University. Later, Satya Nadella moved to the United States and earned a master's degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Satya Nadella also holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago. In fact, he is still active on campus, serving as a board member at his alma mater, the University of Chicago.
"Previously, Nadella started his career in software technology at Sun Microsystems before joining Microsoft in 1992. His career at Microsoft quickly progressed as he became the leader of the company as the Senior Vice President of Research & Development for the Online Services Division. During that time in the division, Nadella led a team that worked on the Bing search engine."
Then in 2011, he was promoted to run the server business and corporate tools unit, which he still pursues until now. That unit has now become the backbone of Microsoft's business in the cloud computing segment. Satya Nadella was selected as the CEO of Microsoft in February 2014. This means he has held this role for a decade.
