Dream - Minister of Finance (Menkeu), Sri Mulyani mentioned the weakening of the exchange rate of the Indonesian Rupiah which has reached the level of Rp16,000 per United States dollar (US). Despite the depreciation, Menkeu ensures that the exchange rate of the Rupiah is still better compared to other countries.
Sri Mulyani noted that the Rupiah exchange rate has weakened by 5.37 percent year to date (ytd). In her notes, this depreciation figure is relatively lower compared to neighboring countries in the Southeast Asia region.

The state treasurer recorded that the depreciation of the Thai Bath exchange rate was corrected by 8.56 percent. Then, the Korean Won weakened by 6.31 percent. In response to the weakening of the Rupiah exchange rate, the Ministry of Finance continues to strengthen coordination with the Financial System Stability Committee.
In addition, Bank Indonesia's policy continues to be directed towards maintaining the stability of the Rupiah against the broad impact of the strengthening of the US dollar.
