Dream - Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN RB), Abdullah Azwar Anas, revealed the reason why the registration of prospective civil servants (CASN) for 2024 has not been opened yet, despite being eagerly awaited by the public.

Minister Anas said that the selection of CPNS 2024 will be opened soon, after the validation process based on the results of filling in or inputting detailed formations from each ministry/agency (K/L) and regional governments (pemda) is completed.

"He explained that there are some ministries/institutions and regional governments that have not yet completed filling in the details of the formations that have been determined by the Ministry of PAN-RB."

"The Ministry of PANRB and BKN has accelerated the verification and validation process for the formation of civil servants from the inputs provided by government agencies and regional administrations. We hope that government agencies and regional administrations that have not yet completed their inputs in the BKN system will immediately finish them so that the registration for CASN can be opened as it has been eagerly awaited by the public."

Formation of CASN or CPNS 2024

To be known, the Ministry of PAN-RB has determined the formation for the recruitment of prospective civil servants (ASN) in 2024, totaling 1.28 million positions consisting of 75 ministries and institutions totaling 427,850, as well as 524 local governments totaling 862,174. The total of 1.28 million is to fulfill the national need for civil servants amounting to 2.3 million gradually.

ASN referred to consists of two categories, namely CPNS that can be applied for by fresh graduates (recent college graduates) and government employees with work agreements (PPPK) intended for non-ASN personnel and former Category II Honorary Employees (THK) who have been included in the National Civil Service Agency's (BKN) database. "So, all of these CASN are digital talents who must have basic knowledge related to digitalization. The hope is that the recruited CASN can continue digital leadership," added Anas.

The government prepares digital civil servants from fresh graduate circles who will become accelerators of bureaucratic machinery and public services.

Anas mentioned that digital is not only about technology, but also related to digital leadership. The digital talent referred to is divided into two, namely digital talent as users and as managers. There are three things that need to be considered to present this digital leadership. The three are digital structure, digital competence, and digital culture.

According to him, digital talents recruited through the CASN procurement will also be placed in the Nusantara Capital or IKN, which will implement an integrated work pattern with flexible time and location to support collaborative and agile work systems. "Therefore, digital talents ready to accelerate the wheels of government in IKN are needed," he said.
