Dream - Five airports are still closed until May 2, 2024 due to the impact of the eruption of Mount Ruang. The volcanic eruption in Sitaro Regency, North Sulawesi, has indeed disrupted flight activities at several airports in the surrounding area.
Since the eruption, there are seven airports that have been affected and have to be temporarily closed. It has been observed that two airports have started operating normally.
AirNav has decided to release a number of Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) related to the impact of Mount Ruang eruption.
"AirNav Indonesia has issued several new NOTAMs regarding the opening and extension of temporary closures of several airports around the Sulawesi region."
Said the Secretary of AirNav Indonesia Company, Hermana Soegijanto, quoted from Liputan6.com, Thursday, May 2, 2024.
List of 5 Airports that are Still Temporarily Closed
Five airports whose closures are still ongoing include Sam Ratulangi Airport, Manado (WAMM), with NOTAM number: A1160/24 NOTAMR A1148/24, the closure is extended from May 1, 2024 at 11:25 WITA until May 2, 2024 at 12:00 WITA (Estimation).
Then, Sitaro Airport, Siau (WAMO), with NOTAM number: C0604/24 NOTAMR C0578/24, its closure is extended from 01 May 2024 at 12.37 WITA until 02 May 2024 at 12.00 WITA (Estimation).
Then, Bolaang Mongondow Airport (WAMI) with NOTAM number: C0601/24 NOTAMR C0577/24, the closure is extended from 01 May 2024 at 12.02 WITA until 02 May 2024 at 12.00 WITA (Estimation).
Next, Pohuwato Airport (WAFZ) with NOTAM number: C0602/24 NOTAMR C0581/24, the closure is extended from 01 May 2024 at 12.05 WITA until 02 May 2024 at 12.00 WITA (Estimation). And, Djalaluddin Airport, Gorontalo (WAMG), with 2 NOTAM numbers: C0599/24 NOTAMR C0585/24 and NOTAM C0606/24 NOTAMR 0599/24, the closure is extended from 01 May 2024 at 09.17 WITA until 01 May 2024 at 24.00 WITA.
Meanwhile, AirNav Indonesia has recorded 2 airports that have been declared safe to operate again. Namely, there is Naha Airport, Tahuna (WAMH) which has been operating normally with NOTAM number: C0603/24 NOTAMC C0576/24, since May 1, 2024 at 12:10 WITA. And, Buol Airport, Pogogul (WAFY) has been operating normally with NOTAM number: C0607/24 NOTAMC C0587/24, since May 1, 2024 at 18:03 WITA.
