Dream - PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) reported positive performance in the first quarter of 2024 amid challenging and fluctuating global economic conditions. The largest sharia bank in Indonesia recorded double-digit growth. BSI President Director Hery Gunardi stated in his written statement that the company recorded a profit of Rp1.71 trillion in the first three months of 2024.

Hery in his written statement, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, explained that the income was driven by the growth of cheap funds and the company's consistency in carrying out intermediation functions. Third party funds (DPK) of BSI recorded a growth of 10.43 percent (yoy) reaching Rp297 trillion with the dominance coming from cheap funds. The acquisition of funds from savings grew by 8.75 percent and demand deposits grew by 10.52 percent.

"In the first quarter of 2024, BSI reported Assets amounting to Rp358 trillion, growing by 14.25 percent with a Return On Asset (ROA) of 2.51 percent, return on equity (ROE) of 18.30 percent, financing to deposit ratio (FDR) of 83.05 percent, non-performing financing (NPF) gross of 2.01 percent, and cash coverage of 196.61.
