Dream - Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center (PPATK) revealed findings of suspicious transactions ahead of the 2024 general election (Pemilu). The transactions originated from an accumulation of 100 legislative candidates (Caleg) with a total value reaching Rp51 trillion. PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana explained that their institution discovered several transactions that were indicated as suspicious.
100 Transactions Entered Big Category
"This is where we take the top 100 out of the 100 permanent candidate data, with a value of Rp 51,475,886,106,483 (Rp 51.4 trillion)," he said in a press conference, quoted from Liputan6.com, Wednesday, January 10, 2024."
Meanwhile, in other categories, there has been an increase in the deposit of funds carried out by the legislative candidate for the 2024 Election. Still with a sample of 100 legislative candidates, PPATK recorded an accumulation of transactions reaching Rp21.7 trillion.
The exact number reached Rp21,760,254,437,875. Ivan confirmed that this calculation includes transactions from the top 100 transactions of the candidates. "And for withdrawals, we also see that there are 100 DCTs that withdraw Rp34,016,767,980,872 (Rp 34 trillion)," he emphasized.
Ivan explained, the PPTK during the campaign period also focuses on suspicious financial transaction reports. The investigation starts from the reported party suspecting suspicious transactions that are allegedly related to certain criminal acts.
"For example, if a person who has been indicated for corruption carries out a transaction, it is known that their profile is different. For example, usually they only make small transactions, hundreds of thousands, suddenly it becomes hundreds of millions or vice versa, hundreds of millions then become billions, it is reported to PPATK," revealed Ivan Yustiavandana."
