Budi Hartono and Michael Hartono, who own the Djarum Group, have wealth of USD 24.3 billion and USD 23.3 billion, respectively.

Prajogo is the son of a rubber trader and used to work as a public minivan driver because he only graduated from junior high school. When working as a public minivan driver, Prajogo Pangestu began to find opportunities to become an entrepreneur. At that time, Prajogo met a Malaysian wood entrepreneur named Bong Sun On or Burhan Uray in the 1960s. The wood entrepreneur then invited Prajogo to work in his company, Djajanti Timber Group.
