According to Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transportation, Article 310 states that any driver who, due to negligence, causes an accident resulting in a person's death, shall be subject to a maximum prison sentence of 6 years and/or a maximum fine of 12 million rupiah. Therefore, he requests that every bus operator regularly conduct periodic inspections on their vehicles in accordance with the provisions stated in Minister of Transportation Regulation Number PM 19 of 2021 concerning Periodic Testing of Motor Vehicles, which has stated that Periodic Testing (KIR) is mandatory for vehicle owners.

"What is no less important is the need for the involvement of the community, especially service users, in checking the roadworthiness of bus fleets through the Mitra Darat application. Currently, the application can be easily downloaded on smartphones and the checking process is quite easy, just by entering the vehicle's license plate number," he said."
