"Dream - The cooperation between Indonesia and Japan in the field of manpower is becoming stronger. This can be seen from the results of the working visit of the Deputy Minister of Manpower, Afriansyah Noor, when he met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan, Heri Akhmadi."
The meeting held on Monday, March 4, 2024 at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Tokyo, Japan discussed the internship program and job opportunities expansion in Japan. This program has proven to attract the attention of prospective workers in Indonesia.
Afriansyah Noor said in his statement, quoted on Monday, March 4, 2024.
Afriansyah revealed that the number of participants in the internship program from Indonesia to Japan has shown an increase every year. In 2022, a total of 8,736 internship participants have been sent to Japan.
One year later, or in 2023, the number of participants in the apprenticeship program increased to 13,396 people.
"While in terms of workforce placement, added Deputy Minister, the Ministry of Manpower is striving to develop cooperation to facilitate Indonesian workers to participate in the Specified Skilled Workers (SSW) program."
"To expand the possibilities of the workforce, according to Afriansyah, Indonesia is participating in the SSW program through the presence of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the Miyagi Prefecture Government regarding the Acceleration of Placement and Acceptance of Indonesian Technical Interns, Specified Skilled Workers, and Technicians in Japan. "This MoC aims to expand job opportunities for young workers in Japan, including through the SSW program or internships," he said."
"Besides the MoC with the Miyagi Prefectural Government, they have also signed an MoC with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) aimed at developing human resources to contribute to social and economic development in both countries, including solutions to increase the number of participants in the SSW program from Indonesia. "I want to strengthen the diplomatic relations in the field of employment between Indonesia and Japan through this MoC," said the Deputy Minister."
The Ministry of Manpower and the National Population and Family Planning Agency held an interactive dialogue with the theme of Productive Workers, Happy Workers with Workers' Welfare Facilities.
